The Hydrogeological Consultants Ltd. (HCL) gwQuery gives a quick assessment of the groundwater potential at a specified legal location. Its results are to be used as a guide only.

Before you use the results

Results are based on regional groundwater assessment reports prepared by Hydrogeological Consultants Ltd. (HCL) in conjunction with the Prairie Farm Rehabilitation Administration (PFRA).
Contact at least three licensed water well drillers to get estimates of drilling and water well completion costs in your area.
Consult the 'Water wells that last for generations' booklet published by the Government of Alberta for advice on hiring a water well driller.
